Open the door, fold down the seat, pull the release handle inside trunk.
Opens up..... Don't ask me how I know this LOL I had to do this with my Amp and subs install......Opps

is the battery dead, disconnected, or both? If just drained, open hood, charge at designated +/- leads going to battery(see owners manual)...otherwise find a 'small' person to open the trunk from the 'alien' release handle.

Have someone hook up jumper cables to the connection points under the hood and then pop the trunk.

The battery is disconnected, so fold down the seat and pull the handle? Lol I have amps and stuff on that wall that's gonna be hard. Is this the only way? What do I gotta take off after I fold the seat to get to the handle. I'm guessing I'm pulling the handle that glows in the dark

This will work even with the battery cables off the battey. Just hope that the + side of the battery cable you took off isn't touching any metal part of the car.

If the plus is still hooked up you should be ok. No harm done if the neg cable touches ground. Just be sure to use the neg auxiliary ground (silver bar in fender) under the hood.

Emergency trunk release with dead battery
Battery is dead in my 2013 Camaro. I tried going in the trunk from the back seat, but when I pull the lever, I get nothing. Is is not working or does it need power?
Never mind. Got it open. Didn’t pull the leaver down past the truck liner. Last edited by malibupaul; 05-18-2022 at 12:16 PM. Reason: Found solution. |
