What are you using to make MP3s?

Funny strange I got all sort of MP3 to what ever programs, but don't have one anymore to make a MP3, media player makes WMA files.

Any tips on a good free program to make MP3s out of CDs?

Yea I got convertors for everything too but that.

I use Audacity software, it is free and can convert wav to MP3 and MP3 to Wave.
Here is the link:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
Make sure you get another small piece of software call Lame.
You will need it for the savings of your converted MP3 file.
It is very simple, just follow the directions and enjoy the ease of the program.

Here is the Lame software or .dll Audacity will ask you to locate on your computer.

LOL .... Just use Windows Media Player, works great and simple one click ripping ...

That what music on a CD is a CDA file......

Media Player works like a champ......since you thought it only made WMA's, all you need to do is:
1. Open up media palyer
2. RIGHT click on the RIP tab, select MORE OPTIONS

3. a box will pop up with 12 tabs select the RIP MUSIC tab
4. in the RIP SETTINGS box, select mp3, then click on APPLY then ok.

from now on, when you rip songs to your computer they will be saved as MP3's

What version is that?

I got version 9 something....

and only got WMA to chose from

does have a link to send me to the plug ins page but not seein one.

i think you will need a codec of some sort for WMP 9

Honestly, if you're not doing any big projects and if you're just the average joe trying to covert songs to mp3s, you should try either windows media player or audacity.
