2000 chevy camaro 4th generation

Situation as follows : Car had been working fine. Suddenly at work, I placed the key into the ignition, and this is on year 25 for the car, and the car instrumentation went dark. The only lights were the security light blinking rapidly, and the seat belt light is on. What I have tried is a new key lock cylinder with keys from Amazon (Delco), and keyed by a locksmith to the correct resistor reading as the old keys. Completed the relearn 30 minute sequence and on the first try to the on setting the lights on the dash came up, and the headlights came on. Then to the start setting then black on the instrument panel, and the security light rapidly blinking. I have a new ignition switch on order, but I would like a second opinion for the cause of the situation. Thanks in advance.

Solder joints in your BCM is the issue. Search VATS on LS1tech and you’ll find the answers you seek. This has been an issue for more than 2 decades now, I’m surprised yours made it this long. You can do a bypass and there are write-up’s for that.

Thank you, I'm a novice at this, and your input is much appreciated. Thanks again.
