Question ELSD Rear End

Hey, wondering if anyone here knows of an aftermarket ELSD
equipped Rear End that is easily swapped in to the 2010-15 Camaro SS. Apparently it's a huge upgrade and allows traction to be had almost anywhere at anytime. Would love to get my hands on one.

I don't think an ELSD would be much of an upgrade. I've had one in the front diff on my truck for about 15 years (e-locker really) and they work well for that application, but for a car they won't do anything for you unless you are spinning only one of the tires. Now, if you have computer controlled all wheel drive, it might help, but probably is not worth the cost. You would probably be better off spending your money elsewhere.

2011 Vert - 416/w 230/236 .612/.602 115lsa, 1LE suspension w/32mm rear bar. Z28 diff. Gen6 ZL1 brakes.

The Eaton Truetrac is a good option.

By ELSD I meant Electronic Limited Slip Differential. The new Camaro ZL1 in the 6th Generation has it. I'd like to get in on the launch gains they give you.

Phastek?

Also, what do you have to get with that piece? Doesn't look like it comes with a housing or axles. What else is involved to make it work?

I don't notice much. I can still spin the wheels at highway speeds in my Z06. I would upgrade my tires first if I were you.

My tires are R888R 315s. I'm aware it isn't a surefire solution to spinning, but I'm also aware it's better to have it than to not.

I don't know how ELSD would be any better than mechanical without full integration into the vehicle control modules with full programming to take advantage.

This was my point.

FYI, electronically actuated carriers have been around for a long time. There are none for the GenV from the factory so any ELSD would just be a carrier you put in your diff. I would rather have a Torsen than ELSD. Mag ride was great feature on the GenV ZL1 and now you can't find replacement shocks. You will find yourself in the same position with that ELSD on the Gen6. Mary Barra thinks we all want to drive electric vehicles and they are discontinuing parts at a rapid clip.
