2010 2LT turn signal issue

My turn signal was not auto-canceling (left or right), so I figured I'd replace the turn signal lever (switch) with one I got from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09P558MJX

I pulled the old one out and sure enough, there's a little white plastic bit that broke off (part of the cancel mechanism).

However, when I put the new one in, it only cancels the left turn signal.

Does anyone have any pictures/diagrams of whatever is inside the steering wheel/column that activates the cancel lever inside the turn signal switch?

In the mean time, I'm going to pull the new one out and verify that the auto-cancel mechanism actually works. And possibly look in to see if there's anything broken inside the housing.

Thanks in advance
