Arrow 2010 Camaro SS (Automatic) vs. 2004 Mach 1 (Automatic)

So who'll win the 1/4 mile?

It would be a pretty good race. The 03/04 Mach 1's were a little underrated. They were making around 325hp (from what I've been told). They were rated at 305hp.
Most guys will agree they are capable of low 13s with good drivers. Guys have put them in the 12s stock.

I had a friend with a Mach 1 (manual) and it was fast. I had a lightly modded04 STi that was running high 12s at the time. I beat him everytime we race, but his car was pretty fast and he gave me a pretty good race. He ran pretty consistant low to mid 13s in his stock Mach 1.

It'll be close, but automatics back then were worse then they are now, if he was a manual he could probably even take you, tho it would definitely be a drivers race (vs an l99). But auto for auto you should take him stock for stock.

Not even close, SS all the way. I used to beat Mach 1's with my LT1 and that was a mid/high 13 second car. People have claimed to do some low ET's with Mach 1's, but I have never experienced that.

Well guess what? I lost. I had him by almost a car about half way through but he started catching up and passed me. I started catching up by the end but it was too late. I lost by almost half a car length.

The Mach 1 was tuned btw.

You had him by a car and he passed you? Doesn't seem right. The weight advantage would be off the line. I hear a lot of stories that just don't add up with the L99. I'm glad I went with the LS3.

It was less than a car (maybe half a car?), sorry my bad. My launch was way better than his though.
I didn't use the paddle shifters either with T/C turned off.

If that was a poor running l99, it would have lost by a lot.

Op, respect for posting what happened, and i have no doubt that you have the faster car. A tune for those auto is like a tune for yours, it will really wake the car up and help the shifting.
