10 Camaro Model Years to Avoid
Stumbled upon this very unflattering write up from LS1Tech. 6 out of 10 are our beloved 5th Gens! WTF? I personally witnessed the low quality gm products of the '70s, '80s and '90s and while they did mention two 4th gens the rest of the list seems inaccurate to say the least. Here's a screenshot, maybe one of you more techie guys can post a link.

The read is exactly as retarded as most of you are probably guessing. Very vague, probably based on some stupid click bait websites findings… Maybe the masses will sell their junky 5th gens all at once so I can buy a few more of these bad ass babies cheap! I’ve had 2 2010’s which are number one on the list and have had not a single problem ever in 6 years of ownership and tens of thousands of miles…

Pointless drivel. My old Camaro has been more reliable than my newer Cadillac CTS-Vsport and from my current reading, more so than the C8 Corvettes I've been looking at.

Except for replacing two tail lamp bulbs, that's all I've had to do to my early '10 SS in
15 years and 73,000 miles. Regular service and 20 oil changes may have helped. These 5th generation Camaros are as reliable as they come imo.

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro computer. It's picked up on the fact that I click on a lot of car stuff. So I get a lot of things like old and new Hollywood stars and their "beloved cars." And most of it is, "pointless drivel" as described above. I'm not even gonna click on it!

Nice clip in your avatar, from what appears to be Earnhardt’s final win at Dega in Oct 2000. I was a huge 3 fan… then 29… then 4… and now not pulling for anyone. Still one of the best finishes NASCAR has ever seen. Seems like just yesterday, Where the hell did 24 years go?

2010 Camaro is not recommended as its the most problematic LMAO
Every time I get in it I think about how great a car it is and quite frankly the best car I ever owned 3 recalls? I can only recall 2 ![]() One was the key fob......... Holy Junk Pile Batman ![]() The other was poor positive battery cable routing on the early cars...nothing a few zip ties didn't cure...sorry to the people who's cars burnt to the ground ![]() So what is this mystery 3rd recall that I never got a notice for?

2013 SS with 73k miles on it and the only GM related failure was the key fob. Even simple items like light bulbs are still original.
Now for other reliability issues, adding a supercharger and drag radials have cost me transmissions, driveshafts, clutches, differential and axles. But that is the price of playing with the go pedal. Its terrible how the media has shifted to do whatever to get us to click on it instead of inform us. |

Most of these stupid lists I see complain about timing issues, but always fail to mention this is mainly a V6 issue. It's nonsense. Hell, even the V6 cars are fairly reliable as long as they are maintained. Ask 99 out of 100 fifth gen owners and they will tell you these cars are built like tanks.
My 2010 has 174k miles on it and is the most reliable car I have ever owned. I will admit to having the blend door failure, so there's that. AFM lifter failure isn't a Camaro issue, it's a GM issue.

I had no concerns plunking down cash for a used 2012 with 96K on the odometer. thing is rock solid and still looks great inside and out. When upgrading from the V6, I was looking at Mercedes, Jaguar, Porche, and others but I wanted high reliability, and I have not been disappointed.
