rear seat bracket

I took the rear seat out of my car and noticed that the bracket was bare steel. I reckon the factory was too cheap to paint it. I'm going to mask off the hoops where the seat clips onto because I think those are stainless steel. The spring loaded latch that holds the seat back bracket is located on the ends and that part is already painted, so I'll just mask that off.

I'm thinking black, but it would be nifty to paint it the same color as the car.

The edges are very sharp, I'll probably take a dremel tool and smooth them down.

The factory didn't paint the floor either. Masking everything isn't something I want to do, so painting is probably out of the question.

Is it worth trying to find some insulation stuff and putting down underneath the carpet?
