my camaro dream is further now

i saved up a little money which is very hard for me by the way, i spend on such stupid stuff, so im planning on using our tax return to help get me out of my current car which is upside down by theway, also i need to pay off a couple of small bills, i find out i actually need to pay money on our taxes and the money i saved will be going towards that, i will be back at square one, i wanted to try and get the synergy green so bad, ive never owned a brand new car and dont want to buy one used. its just hard to wait so long may be close to 1 1/2 to 2 years before i can buy now. any good words of advise to keep me from going insane, eeven thought of buying a 95 z/28 thats for sale locally to hold me off, but then i would be evn further behind

Think you may want to spend a little of your money on maybe a Dave Ramsey book. JMHO

Grow up! (j/k!) I saved for 6 years to get my Camaro.

I was VERY fortunate because when I started saving, I didn't know the Camaro would even be available. However, I did know I'd need a new car, so I socked away money every month for 6 years. When I saw the Camaro on the dealer's lot a few months ago, I kept driving by slowly to have a look and finally stopped in. I said to the salesman "I'm not going to buy one, but I'd love to sit in it." He handed me he keys and said "start her up" (it was an SS, btw). It made the most pleasant growl! I said "thanks" before I was tempted to drive it. A month later I took a test drive and ordered my car the same day. I've wanted a car like this for 35 years. I was able to write a check for it.

Save your money. You have to pay your dues. Don't bury yourself in unmanageable debt to get the car. You will enjoy it a lot more if you work hard, save your money, then buy it! Really you will.

Im 46 years old and this is the first new car and first car I bought not based on need (not including a couple stock cars, lol). I have felt the urge over the years but could never justify it. The gen 5 just took hold of me and wouldnt let go. For some reason I just had to have one and that was the end of it so I know what you're feeling. It will be worth your wait and you will appreciate it that much more.

Im waiting also. Out of necessity. Saving the right amount and paying off my existing loan. Keeping the truck... I was so itching that day in October when everyone was preordering and I did not. Its hard but in the long run you will be better off.
