Need a little insight
I would appreciate some insight, please. I put the passenger seatback all the way forward (using the lever on the back of the seat) so I could reach something out of the back seat. Now it will not go back into position. According to the owner's manual, the power button to recline the seat is disabled when the seatback is not in position. But that is not my issue.

I appreciate the video, but it isn't the power switch to recline; it's the lever on the back of the seat. It won't release the seatback to allow it to be pushed forward the rest of the way (it's about halfway forward), and it doesn't return to its normal sitting position. According to the manual, the recline switch is disabled when the seatback is not in its normal position. I've owned the car for ten years (it's a 2014) and haven't had this issue before.

You lifted the manual release to push the seat back forward and now it wont go back to normal position? is there something jammed in the seat between the seat back and seat cushion? or will it not simply move from being pushed forward and is "stuck" almost layin on the dashboard? or is it going back, but not "clicking" in back to the normal position?

Hey just pop the seat out it's only 2 bolts in the front and it will lift right out. Flip it on its side and remove the trim pieces. Find the manual release which connects to the rear handle and allows you to push it forward and back. Push it back into position and forward a few times and see if the problem persists.

Hey!
That’s kinda annoying when power seats just decide to be extra for no reason. Happened to me once and I had to yeet the seat back manually like some caveman before the buttons woke up again. Maybe try wiggle the seat back and forth while mashing the power button? Could trick the sensor into resetting. If that flops, dealership or mechanic might be your next stop. Fun fact: this tip came from a buddy from the ChilliCode team (they’re usually busy coding apps n stuff, but lowkey, some of them are obsessed with Camaros and talk about this stuff). Fingers crossed it sorts itself out without too much drama! |
