A 15 year old love affair

Wow, long time no see!!! Looks like I last visited in 2011, that's horrible of me... Thanks for the birthday message reminder, mods of the past who set up an automation! Might as well share my story

I am proud to let you know that I am still the proud owner of my brand new 2010 Camaro SS2, 6-speed, no moonroof, in Cyber Grey, and less than 40k miles!!! She's a special car, and due to get cleaned up for collector plates next year. Her stripes are a little faded, and a few dents to clean up, but what an amazing journey we've had in it over the past 15 years!
I've always loved the Camaro, I guess it was a side effect of growing up watching Dad rebuild his 1970 Camaro SS, bought brand new on May 24, 1970. He dropped me off to pick up mine in that car, on May 14, 2010... We are still the only owners of our Camaros.
I took delivery right in time to hit the road for a stag/stagette party in Vegas, and I broke her in between Vancouver, BC and Spokane, WA, my girlfriend, Sarah, riding shotgun. After partying in Vegas, it was over to Los Angeles, and up Highway 101. I was sicker than I had ever been on that drive; Food poisoning from last night's Lamb Shank. Sarah was terrified of the idea of wrecking my new car, and didn't trust herself with a new clutch. I drove the hell out of that car on the Legendary PCH. As we pulled up to a construction site outside of Big Sur, I looked over, she was gripping the handle, white-knuckled. "You OK?", I asked... Clearly oblivious.
"You have been up since Midnight, you have nothing but ginger ale and gatorade in your system, and you're taking those curves at speed, at the edge of a cliff..."
"The tires weren't squealing, we're fine", I joked... I settled down a LITTLE bit after that...
I fell in love with that car on Highway 101, and 15 years later, she's still the road trip car. I still remember turning heads in 2010, and today, the glory days of owning a 2010 Camaro SS are still here! it doesn't matter if it's my beautiful wife Sarah or I behind the wheel, we still turn heads. People often stop and pause in parking lots, and a friend of mine who has never owned a drivers licence, even at 45, said "I admit, I don't know anything about cars, and I don't care about them, but I just love how this car sounds!"

Great story and I imagine your colour decision was influenced by your Dads car. Really cool he still owns it.

Jealous that you can get your collectors plate after 15 years. Got to wait for 20, here in the states.
Love the 2 generations pic!

Hahaha, mine has a number? LOL, I've never bothered to try and figure out the rarity of mine. This isn't an investment item, and I'm the last of my line, and all I know is that in 40 or so years, a '70 and '10 Camaro will hit the market for the first time! They should both be pretty damn priceless by then, with both infused with the passion of the open road!

We have a clause which says that if the Production model is discontinued, we can get our plates after 15 years after the original production date of your car (Mar '10 for me), check your local laws carefully!
