Stuck key fix

Mu 2015 2ss Camaro began
to intermittently suffer from the stuck key in the ignition.
I ordered a micro switch from Digikey, part number D2HW-BL221H for about 10 bucks.
I followed the instructions found on utube by @747mechanic.
This is an easy fix and the only tools needed is a soldering iron and a couple screw drivers.
One thing not mentioned in the video is you can remove the passenger side panel from the console to gain access to the screw holding the plastic piece covering the switch.
When I removed the stock switch, I found both studs holding the switch were cracked. I believe they came that way from the factory and finally causing the problem.
I believe this is the proper way to fix this problem.

Thanks for posting the part number for the micro switch. I replaced the whole shifter assembly last fall, but I plan to get this switch to repair the shifter I removed as a spare.

I just removed the plastic collar from the steering column and unplugged one wire...problem solved.

Unplugging the steering collum solenoid is a easy option, however now the key can be removed in any position. Just not what I wanted.
