I love my car, but...

It gets really annoy when another driver sees me/my car, and suddenly, they become John Force and want to drag race. This happened to me twice this morning on the way to work, in the span of 30 minutes.

First, I am going down the on ramp, which turns into an off ramp exit only lane, about a 1/4 mile long. As I get down the ramp, I catch up with a Mitsubishi Eclipse. I start to speed up to get in front of it due to no traffic in front of it, otherwise, I would have to try and merge into the line of traffic behind it. So, as I start to speed up, I can tell the person driving downshifts and starts to speed up and is keeping up with me. So, I am thinking, WTF! Needless to say, I down shift, easily pass them and merge onto the interstate.

Second one is a similar situation.

Do our cars invoke anger, envy or jealousy in people to do that? Whatever the reason, it's rather annoying.

I think people just want to see what our cars got. I am sure there are several kids on the road that insist they are driving the worlds fastest car. I can usually spot these guys out fairly quickly. ie: high wing spoiler, coffee can exhuast, tons of stickers, and on a couple occasions they use their own paint marker and write numbers on their top left windshield.

I will admit, I like racing people... especially punks who think their rice is a nice car :-p But I understand where you are coming from... my car does get a lot of negative attention... as well as positive...

While those are easy to spot, this car was just an average looking Eclipse, nothing special about it.

I just drive man. My TSX is pretty powerful for a 4 banger, at 205 hp, so I try to use the shifts to get more torque out of the car in certain traffic conditions. This usually either surprises people, so they like to have some fun or this pisses them off and become what I call "regulators" because they believe everyone should be following them.

Now I am not stupid, if I see a corvette, camaro, chally, 350/370zs, bimmers or anything that I know has 300 hp atleast, I am not gonna try to act like a fool. But if they are going slower than me and are not going to go fast let me pass, its nothing personal.

I don't care about either type of driver, I just drive fast because I like to and I don't see the reason why I need to drive slower than 65-70 mph on an interstate.

First off, I wasn't "regulating" anything. I was coming down the on ramp, trying to get in front of the car as to not get stuck in slower traffic behind him. Second, he didn't "use the shifts to get more torque out of the car." He downshifted and sped up to either, race me or keep me from getting in front of him. There was no traffic in front of him, and when I came down the ramp and got even with him, we were doing at least 65. So, take the nitrous hose out of your mouth, quit huffing and

I haven't had anyone try to race me in new SS but my 93 Z is another story. Everything from a minivan to the rice-mobiles. I haven't figured out the mentality of pitting an 88 Dodge minivan against a Z28. Maybe mother didn't breast feed as a child or something.

Try driving an 18 wheeler and see what people do to you while out there on the road.

Dumbass cool your horses........I am gettin a Camaro if you see my stupid sig. I am not talkin about you. I was talkin about the types of drivers you encountered this morning.

"What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach."

I am on your side!! I was just trying to relax you and say drive at the speed you want, if the other idiot wants to block you or something, hes gonna get himself into trouble anyway. I used to get pissed as hell when idiots like that pulled stunts, I realized its not worth getting mad anymore.

Good luck on the road and yeah........
