Question for L99 owners

Do you have some kind of feature or setting that makes the car shift only when it red lines? I don't mean tap shift or basic drive, either.

Thanks.

I own an LT, but I believe I can answer that question.

Without using the manual shift feature, the only way to get to redline would be to put it in sport mode and put her to the floor.

Otherwise, if you just want it to not shift unless it hits redline, even if your just cruising....no...theres no standard feature for that.

Full throttle shifts are set at 6000 RPM in D or S mode. A TCM tune is required to raise that limit.

It will show S on the little screen in between the gauges, when your "shifter" is in the M position but your not using the "tapshifters" or whatever they're called

Gonna either have to get a tune. Or use the tap shiffters to do it.

In manual mode you will hit the rev limiter before your eye can send the message to your brain to send the message to your finger to hit the tap shifter to tell the tranny to shift when flooring it to close to the red line. Let the computer do it for you. A tune can help put that where your want it.
