Unbiased review on KWV3-Pedders-Pfadt needed!

I need a unbiased review on the listed coilovers. If you are a vendor chime in especially if you sell more than one of the brands listed. Thanks!

You expect a vendor to be unbiased? "We carry the product, but don't buy it"

Pedders, we've got them and we love them on our shop car, great bang for the buck

It is funny you say that because I have delt with individuals like that and in the end those are the people I trust the most. Now, what I am really looking for is a vendor who actually sells more than one of the listed coilovers. It would be nice to talk to someone about a product that has experience in selling the competition and who can point you to the right product you need. Thanks

Andre

You've dealt with a vendor that carries a specific brand and they've recommended that you not buy it? Seems terrible. Now if you're talking about a vendor who sells multiple brands recommending one brand over the other, I could understand that.

Even then they may be selling based on profit margin. In the end you're just gonna have to jump in and pick one.

I do not think there is anyone out there that can answer this question fairly. First off,m there is no vendor out there that sells all 3 brands, and definately no one has done a side by side conmparison between them. An opportunity for such a comparison can happen this November at the 2010 Optima Challenge in Las Vegas. All the suspension companies can bring out their best car, stay within the rules, and let the times and data show the differences.

But there are big differences between the 3 brands you mentioned. Will they all perform in a great way? ABSOLUTELY. Will they perform differently?

Here are things to consider when considering a upgraded coil over assembly:

1. Will they meet your needs? this is a big question. Things to consider are how y pou will drive, your hp, your tires, yopur budget, how easily are they to adjust and a hole lot more. KNOWLEDGE IS KING on this one.

2. Testing. What testing is available with data.

3. Coil ratings. Are optional coils available?

4. Damping adjustability. This is a big one. You can have single point adjustability or separate jounce and rebound. Now for the expert and very experrienced driver, having separate adjustability is great. But for the novice, it can be a big hinderance. Plus not all of the units mentioned are fully adjustable in all velocity ranges. Some dampers you can only adjust the low and mid range velocity. High speed adjustability is not allowed.

5. Range of adjustability of dampers Are there detented adjustable dampers, are they infinite (turn 30 degrees) are there 15 ior 30 way adjustable

6. Monotube versus twin tube

7. Single point adjustability versus separate jounce and rebound
This is significant decision. Dual adjustability has its role for sure. But the simplicity of a single point that adjusts both directlions equally and equally on all velociies can be a great thing as well

8. Height Adjustability. Do you have to limit coil spring travel to change the height of your Camaro? Will you have the same comfort at OE height versus a 2 inch drop? Will your coils be balanced at all levels, especially after corner weighing?

9. Diversity in Damping Levels Can the damper give you OE damping levels to full road race settings

10. Price! Big differences amoung the 3 brands

11. Warranty Whats the length of warranty,, will racing void the warranty. How easy is it to get warranty service

12. Do you understand all that is to be gained by upgrading various suspension components>? Click on the link at the bottom to find out

13. Do you need all the technology available like oversized bores and pistons, large remote canisters, dual adjustability. Or do you need height and simple adjustability and what ranges of adjustability do you need?

thanks

mike

It's not an easy thing to do. I had no idea so I just went with the one who spent time answering my questions personally. I didn't get coilovers but just springs and sway bars but it's the same method of shopping. Honestly, I doubt you'll know which are the best unless you try them all. Obviously you can't do that, and even if you do, you may not know even then. They are all good reputable companies. Talk to them privately and ask them to answer your questions and go with the one who makes you more comfortable.

Or the one who takes the time to answer all of your questions. Understand though, that they can't sit at the computer or on the phone too long, profit margine on an individual piece can't be all that high, but some just like to go out of their way to help. That's what I did.

Happy shopping.

You are funny. A true statement, but funny non the less. Chatting with me it is hard not to pick up the passion that all of us have at Pedders. Before we really chat about it, we really test the stuff out. So we can be extremely confident on what we say.

It is one of the fun things I do every day as well. It gives me great pleasure to chat with the guys, then have them call me and say AWESOME!

thanks
