1 year anniversary (March 16th) - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I just thought it was amazing that we are approaching the 1 year anniversary of the 5th generation Camaro. I know that many of the Camaro5 members got their cars last Spring. Their cars are quickly approaching their
1st birthday.
Many of the early pre-orders got stuck in QC for an extended period of time. There were even guys that gave up their dreams because of it. But for the ones that stuck it out, it was definately worth the wait. My car sat in QC for about a month and a half and I didn't recieve it until early June. But I'm glad I didn't give up.

I wonder if GM is planning anything to celebrate the 5th generation's 1st birthday?

I placed my order on Nov. 17/08, the day they released Canadian pricing. My car was built on day one, Monday March 16th 2009, then straight into QC. Everybody was telling me to cancel my order, get your money back, you'll never get your car! Nobody had any faith that GM would pull through, but I would not listen them. Then 110 days later, Friday July 3rd, I finally got the call, my Camaro had arrived! Thank God I was home that day. My salesman said that I had waited long enough, and made sure I got to take it home the same day. So I have two dates to celebrate, 3 1/2 months apart, and no regrets for keeping the faith in GM. Keep up the good work guys.

It's wild it's been a year. I ordered 10/15/2008 and mine didn't arrive until 6/29/2009. I can't believe it's been almost a year. What a hell of year it's been!!!

Indeed. I went from "I will never order a first year issued car" to "Give me my Camaro before I choke you" attitude.

I was one of the lucky ones. I didn't order til Late January or maybe early Feb, I can't remember, but I got the car on June 1st. #9067 and the 57th in Alabama. Not too bad. I never complained because some of the guys had ordered months before me and still hadn't got theirs when I did. I felt crappy for them.

I got a ways to wait still for my one year B-day of the car, April 20 something, but it's been a really cool year.

I ordered 10/14/08,Camaro arrived at dealer morning of 06/25/2009,,, Just glad its home this winter,last winter no Camaro in garage, going nuts waiting for production to start.
I didn't see another one on the road for about four weeks after getting mine!!!

Ordered mine 1/2/09 and picked it up 5/19/09...almost 9 months of PURE DRIVING EXCITEMENT!!!!!!!!!...best car in the history of the universe!!!...

Ordered mine on Jan.31, 09 and got her June 25th 09' and I have thought about it can't believe that one yr. is coming up and still love her just like when I first saw her.

AMAZING! Where has the year gone? Wasn't one of the early orders but, my quest to obtain a new Camaro began around this time last year. Ordered two months after production started.

So I guess what you are saying is you love your car? LOL I feel the same way its amazing how much this car affects the people who own them , its like a family member to me

Well unless you count the slowness! Glad we got that sorted out!

You know it's funny. This time last year people were saying GM was done. They said the Camaro was never gonna see the light of day. Now the Camaro is spanking the Mustang on a regular basis. GM is rebounding, and Toyota is going into it's own dark ages. Funny how different a year makes. Imagine what the next year will bring. Convertible... Z28...

That's an amazing story. I can only imagine how you felt waiting for your Camaro to arrive. And you get to celebrate your car's birthday in just a few weeks. That's pretty cool to have your car built on the first day of production.
