MRT Exhaust

I'm having a hard time deciding on which MRT version to go with : 1.0 or 2.0
It has been a while since I have posted about an exhaust but now I'm ready to buy one and any incite will do !

This is what I'm looking for or should I say what I want to hear from an exhaust. Loud but tamed not raspy more like a muscle car sound ( I know I should of gotten a V8). This would be the mean issue for sound , hearing a rumble at idle and from a distance , more sound from the exhaust over the sound from the engine ..

I did my searches on you-tube and heard some clips from here but I still can't decide on which version to go with . So I'm asking now because I see that a lot more C5 members have the MRT's (1.0 or 2.0 ) or are waiting to get them soon , so maybe you can convince me on which version to go with that will fulfill my needs that I have listed with the main issue being with the SOUND at an idle..
When it comes to the drive by and take-off both versions sounds great ...

Thanks ..

I have version one and I just love it! It's a little more loud than the V2 and others say the V2 is more "refined" or whatever. Honestly I think V1 sounds better, but like everyone it comes down to personal opinion. You can't go wrong with either one.

Here are some youtube links to my V1

my 2.0 at idle it's about the same as stock maybe just a little bit louder so if you want more agressive sound I say go for the 1.0, I for one love the 2.0 because of that, it's so mild when you want to and goes crazy when you need to.

here is a vid I took, somebody here asked me for a cold start and let it idle till the RPM's settle down but it was too windy and the sound of the winds ruinned it.

From the little you said I would say get the MRT ver.2.0

It's just a little tamed from the ver.1.0

You won't be disappointed what ever you choose. I have the 2.0. Another thread with the 1.0 install had guys insulating their trunk because of just a little to much cabin noise while driving. That was the kicker for me. The 2.0 sounds bada$$ but not irritating when you are driving. Scrmng has a vid of cabin testing with decibal meter with a 1.0 and a 2.0 if you have not seen it.

yea i went with the 2.0 and am VERY happy with it.

very aggressive sound when u want it and when just at idle its pretty quiet. but louder then stock at idle in my opinion.

The Scrmng V2 is the most V8 sounding exhaust by far and scrmng actually dynoed more HP with the V2 after than he did the V1 but he claims that it mighta just been the conditions but he said you definately wont get less hp using the V2.

Initially a cold start the MRT 2.0 is pretty loud and it rattles my house, when the garage door is closed, for about 5-7 seconds then it quiets down. After maybe 15 seconds you can't even tell there is an after market exhaust on it. When I'm idling I can hear a really really low low rumble and reving in neutral really doesn't sound that great although it's apparent to others that you have an after market exhaust.

BUT!

Once you take off and start accelerating quick, you really hear the 2.0 BIG TIME. It sounds very nice and loud but not obnoxious. It's a great clean sound, I even got a comment that my car sounds like a Ferrari when I gas it. You really need to get a CAI to get the full effect of an exhaust IMO. ( sound wise ).

Definitely thinking about JBA but I'm going to wait a week. There is this local event happening near me next Saturday and they supposedly have headers that bring out over 32 hp at the wheels with a stock v6!

The idle sound once settled does seem louder then stock or is it just the video that makes it seem louder

NO, the Rev limiter is not set to 118MPH... and YES, driving in this manner does affect MPG...
