If I were to sell my Camaro...

...what car should I get as long as I have some extra cash left? I want to use part of that extra money for college and the rest for what ever else I want. I've been looking at Fieros and Monte Carlos but now I'm looking more to the previous gen Impala. What do you guys think?

I'm not selling it right now, but I might sell it this Fall. Like I said, I need some money to pay for college, necessities, etc., and a car I can drive year round.

I WOULDN'T SELL MINE UNLESS I WERE DYING. GM WILL PULL THE PLUG ON THE CAMARO AGAIN...AND THIS TIME THEY WON'T BRING IT BACK AFTER 7 YEARS. IT WILL PROBABLY BE CHEVY'S LAST GENERATION...AND WHO WISHED THEY HELD ONTO THEIR OLD '69 BIG BLOCK CHEVELLE SS? I DO.

You know, this kind of reminds me of the show West Wing. Towards the end of the series, when everyone had to leave the white house, they had a saying...

Once you work here, nothing else matters. Ther's nothing bigger than this. To me, the same applies to this car. Get what you need to get, but in the end, it doesn't matter, because it's not the Camaro. I would have a hard time enjoying something else after theis car. Just my .02..

OK... kid enters a Dr. Pepper contest and wins... SWEET DUDE, CONGRATS...

Now he is thinking about selling to pay for school... AWESOME... a guy with his priorities sraight!

He came here to ask some options of what to get with the leftover money b/c he needs a car he can drive year round... No one has helped him, just asked why he is selling... which he stated, or that there is no other car than a Camaro... keep in mind, he WON this car, maybe he never really wanted one like us, but now has one... you know, this car IS NOT for everyone!

As far as options to look for, its hard to give that without a price range...

Avoid Fieros (not a year round car, plus most are junked out these days)
Last gen impalas are OK if you want basic transportation, unless you mean a 90s SS with the LT1, in that case, see above.
The last 2 gen Montes are nice, esp the most recent SS but, not sure on your price range. It would be a good all around car and still sporty to boot.

A decent 4th gen would be nice, as long as you got decent tires on it for the winter, you could rock that year round...

Thats about all I have, even though there are literaly 100s of options.

Good luck with school and thats great you have set your priorities. You can get another Camaro some day, if you want one.

If you are going to sell it, do it now man. Trying to sell a Camaro up here in the fall is not a good idea.

Go grab yourself a 2 or 3 year old grand prix gxp, monte ss or something and pocket the difference for what you need it for. Hell, you can get an 08 grand prix gt with like 15000 miles on it for 13k or so.

best of luck, keep us updated.

I agree with scrappy. Camaros don't sell well up here during the bad months. So if you do sell do it this spring or summer. As for a car you can drive year round you could consider a used AWD charger/300. You can get those with AWD and V6 and save a ton of $$ vs getting a V8.

BTW, I drive about 25k miles per year and drive my car year round. This winter was bad for us and I only had 4 or 5 days that I didn't want to drive into work.
