Do you have a price for this 76 kit? How tough would it be for u to tune a cammed VVT L99 with ported heads and this turbo? What is the rated HP for the 71 and 76 kit?

turbo setups are very cool but I don't think I'd ever go that route again. I'm old school and I use to be heavy in to the Buick Grand Nationals. those cars were crazy fast for their day and we use to get gobbs of power from those little 3.8 engines.

but between countless tranny and turbo problems, my GN's were on the back of roll back wreckers more than they were on the road. especially turbo issues. I always knew that the minute I'd start seeing blue smoke coming from the exhaust, it was one of the bearings on my turbo(s) going out. this would be an easy $500 to $700 repair every time.

those turbos run so hot and they have to work so hard, it's almost a given that somethings going to go wrong sooner than later. I hope my supercharger route isn't no where near as dramatic.

1970's-1990's turbos were crude by today's standards. Things have changed (Thrust, Journal bearing's, seals, and CHRA's have dramatically improved). I'm sorry you have a bitter taste in your mouth, but I can't say I blame you. I had a a 87 GN and I know exactly what you're talking about!
