Has anybody heard both (non-BA vs BA) & is there a clear difference? Is the $500 extra bucks worth it on a 1SS???

I test-drove an LS and can say the system sounded good, maybe a little less clear. I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the bass response on the BA system. I had a BA in my 06 300C and it had excellent bass. I am thinking of adding some kind of subwoofer and changing the rear paper 6X9's.

It's about equal w/ the Blaupunkt in our G8, and certainly better than the Bose (Blows) in my C6. I'm happy enough w/ it to leave it in there, it was worth the $$ to me.

It's a definite improvement over past GM systems. Go find a Chevy dealer with a 1LT or LS on the lot to try out. That would be your best bet.

For a stock system I really have no complaints. I plan on upgrading the entire system in the fall anyway.

SO -- just to confirm, $500 is only buying me a set of BA speakers, right?

Non-ba is about the same with about 50% less volume ability, imo

I wouldn't the the BA upgrade. The standard hookup is fine. The BA is just louder for a $1000 more, thats a joke.
I would get the standard package, and the sound really bugs you, grab some Polk speakers and go nuts. And later, if you really want to have some fun, put your own amp in. In the end you will spend less and have more.
