Strength is gone...(best price on SW headers)
Well...shes got 7xx miles on her now. I want headers....screw it. Im going to buy them very soon and just wait a couple thousand miles to install them (give the car just a little more time on warranty) and probably get the car tuned at livernois. Then probably next year Ill do h/c at this rate LOL.
I have decided on the SW headers that just came out which fit to the stock exhaust location. They have the best price on 2 inch that fit to stock location and are also stainless. I want the 2 inch with off road lead pipes part #CA11HDROR byunspeed has a very good price and also includes free shipping. Was going to give some others the chance to beat this price before pulling the trigger. |

I believe Kooks now offers the same setup. The one place I checked had them for $10-20 more. Just another option for you.

Any reason to expect better gains from kooks over SW?

Why 2 inch headers? I ask because when I shopped around, I heard some interesting stories on guys using 2 inch headers, they actually lost power across the board. 2 inch is probably overkill unless you're moving to a supercharger setup.

I am choosing 2 inch because in the Jannetty racing independent test the 2 inch headers made more power across the board on an otherwise stock car. The 2 inch even had the same power or slightly better down low as the 1 7/8.
So for me on a car that I will most likely add a cam and heads to later...I see no reason to stay with 1 7/8. I dont see any advantage to buying them. Even with the car the way it sits. |

Cool.
So you dont currently live in jackson? Yeah maybe we could get together with some other car guys some time. I have some friends with sports cars... So it looks like no one wants to beat byunspeeds price...thats a shame...

I have been down it. But only a time or two. I actually live in Hanover. It is in jackson county...about 20-25 minutes from downtown jackson.
Damn small world so far and both of you guys have headers. I cant let that happen now can I. SSMOORE...what does your car look like? I seen a white car with red or orange stripes a week or so ago by the panera restaurant. I think I may have waived but cant remember. |

Yep it was me I am sure of it.
Man your car is sweet as hell looking. Your combination was actually my second choice. I would have done it if the stripes were factory painted. I also happen to have a pole barn, garage and lift ![]() I dont let anyone work on my cars but me. Dyno tune is all I will let them do. I did H/C to my 98 and it was great. These motors are built to be modded. Very simple when you get to know them. |
