Trifecta Tune and Airaid get amazing results?

One of my friends who knows about my obsession with my Camaro showed me this.. 24hp and 17tq to the wheels. Smells WAY TOO fishy..

You have to look at the BIG PICTURE... the car was most likely loosing power due to the AirAid... it was also running on crappy gas... So the baseline was most likely noticeably LESS than a car with a stock intake and good gas... So put some good gas in the car and then add a tune to recalibrate the MAF so it is reading correctly and you see a nice gain... So it not just a simple matter of a tune adding 24 HP, it's a combination of things... better gas, corrected MAF, some tune improvement... it all adds up... The problem is we don't know how much each piece contributed to the total gain...

Yeah good point scrming, I didn't really think of that. I just read that and saw 24hp/17tq gain and was like

Scrming, didn't you have a tune when you did your pulls and lost hp? I'm confused.

I believe that was his way of saying there's been a lot of discussion in this forum about what exactly the Airraid does or doesn't do for your vehicle. There have been official tests, unofficial tests, videos, dyno sheets, accusations, apologies, near-riots... long story short, you were right to be skeptical but Airraid's working on a redesign to live up to their hype more consistently.

Well said, and I hope the v2 tube brings AirRaid some respect back. Gotta give them props for acknowledging a problem, when multiple owners and an independant tester, showed them the issue. Hopefully the v2 fixes all, and by the test mules initial report, they might just have!

Oh I totally know and understand the whole Airaid issue, as I have an Airaid unit in my car and I monitor these forums daily. I just thought I'd share that link.
