Angry Stupid friggin construction

So I'm going home today at aroun 8:30ish. My usual route takes me down the 427 then east onto the QEW and the second exit onto Islington. But of course it's now costruction season so the powers that be decided to close the mini collectors lanes my exit lies on.

I'm going past it (slowly) thinking I'll get off at the next exit onto Lakeshore (around the Humber). As soon as I get near I see two lanes of stop lights that probably went for a good 1.5km's. Crap guess I take the next exit as this line is not moving at all and I imagine the traffic lights are to blame.

I get near the next exit on the west side of the EX. It's FRIGGIN CLOSED TOO!!! At this point I'm a bit irritated since the next exit isn't till Spadina.

I finally manage to exit onto Spadina and pull a u-turn at the first set of lights and get myself back on the Gardiner going west. Got home 30 minutes later than I should have. I basically doubled the length of my trip.

The first link is what my route SHOULD have looked like. The second link is what my route ACTUALY looked like today.

Normal trip

Stupid trip

This website should be checked frequently by you
http://www.toronto.ca/transportation...info/index.htm

& 680 news on the 1 for traffic reports too

PS: I live by Islington Ave. & Evans Ave.

You should of seen my face earlier this week getting on the on-ramp to Gardiner Expressway to downtown Toronto
The collector lanes being cut out, with rough surface.
& then Lakeshore being the same thing between the Humber Bridge & Colbourne Lodge for a couple of days.
& the Park Lawn exit area being under construction.

PPS: Same thing happened to my brother's buddy a few days ago
& didn't you love the drive back to Etobicoke, with the Gardiner Expressway down to 2 lanes a Jameson area ?

I got stuck on Lakeshore on Monday, and they had the ramps blocked to get on to the Gardiner. Took me an extra hour to get home.

Oh yes that was pure awesomeness. Driving in the far left lane going into the gentle turn. The suddenly a SINGLE tiny orange road sign idicating the late was ending right when it was half way there. That was an interesting merge to say the least.
