New here, Possible prob with manual

Hellooooo, Just traded my 06 Charger RT for this beast last night, love it. One question though. I have the Manual and there a load clunck when letting out the clutch to go into 1st and then from 1st to second, I figure this is probably normal but since this is my first camaro I thought I'd ask. Thanks. And glad to be here cant wait to contribute

Hmmm.....mine never did a clunck in any gear. I would give it a few days and if it doesn't go away I would let the dealer look at it. After all that's what the warranty if for.

When you get about 1500 miles on it chage out the Trans and Rear End oil to synthetic. The syenthetic in the trans is supposed to make it shift smoother. I'm about 250 miles away from doing mine.

Also....start saving your money for an aftermarket short throw shifter. You'll love it. Do the reasearch to determine which one is best for you. I ended up with MGW and love it.

Hi and welcome to site!

You are probably hearing drive line slack that makes a clunking noise.

Hi Rob! Welcome to forum. Definitely have it checked out. I traded in my 07' Charger R/T for a SS/RS Camaro Automatic. Did you find the biggest difference between the two cars were the size of the windshields and side windows? It took me a while to get used to having less visibility.

Does it ALWAYS clunk? or only sometimes, especially at low speed....

Every GM manual V8 car I had was easy to make clunk at low speeds.

Depending on what your definition of CLUNK is it's probably just the sound of the driveline slacking up. It's more noticeable in the camaro due to the independent rear.

Change out the trailing arms when you get the noise problem resolved. It really takes out a big bunch of the driveline slack. Unless of course this is what you are hearing. Then it will be greatly reduced after this mod. I really felt the difference when I did it.

Thanks so much, I do feel better but I'm takeing it in tomarow morning to have em look at it, also there is a bunch of micro scratches in the clear coat so I'm going to ask them to buff them out. Oh and to the charger owner Yah the lack of visibility is takeing some getting used to, but not as bad as I expected. I LOVE this car. I have this LONG list of stuff to do to her that will keep me busy for the next 30 Years or so

or you can use the skip shift eliminator that I use.... the right foot

don't try to shift into 2nd below 1800 rpm and you'll never see the skip shift light
