Superchargers and altitude changes

I'm moving back to Reno, NV soon. I'm wanting to add a supercharger and wondering how it will drive in different altitudes. Reno is at 4400 feet and I would be visiting friends down as low as sea level. Also as high as 8000 feet.

My question is will the car run the same at sea level as it would at 4400 feet. If not would you have to have another tune for the lower elevation. Would like to know before I add a S/C ....Thanks for any input on this.

No altitude will have a serious effect on power. Expect to lost 1.5lbs of boost going from sea leval to 4400ft. Magnuson has a "high altitude" package they will give you. It includes a smaller pulley for the correct boost levels. Just be cautious when you travel to sea level as you will see more boost than the tune is for.

If I went with headers and a cam would that be better with driving in different altitudes? Or is it about the tune? Could I have two different tunes for the higher and lower altitude. Or should I stay stock for the traveling I want to do on the weekends. This is pretty much a weekend car. Thanks

The computer should adjust for altitude, I would think that it would be linear to fuel air ratio at altitude. Boost is a positive on aircraft.

The ECM Calibration will compensate properly - as long as it isn't has been molested or altered by a fool.
