The Greatest Road's to Drive In Ontario Thread

Was out just on a pleasure drive last weekend and by pure fluke found myself on what was probably the most fun road I've ever driven. Was a left off highway 10 just north of Brampton onto Forks Of The Credit Road. It winds it's way west into a small town/village called Belfountain. Loads of twists and turns and elevation changes all surrounded by some beautiful forest goodness. Can't wait to drive it again in the summer and fall with the tree's on full blast. I drove it about 4 times before moving on. Didn't have my camera but will get some pics next time.

If you live in Ontario and know of a some great road's that are fun to drive or just have great scenery please share. Pictures would be a bonus

I drove from Ottawa to Haliburton a few weeks ago. The road between say Renfrew and Haliburton was just pure beauty. PLus there was hardly any traffic.

It'll never be a WRC special, but there are some twists, and plenty of elevation changes. There were 3 OPP speed traps, but it was the Easter weekend. Still plenty of places I was able to open her up a little bit (and I'm still only driving an automatic Civic! :( Just 5 more months, 5 more months...)

On the way back I drove around Algonquin park. Very scenic too, but I enjoyed the first way better. Besides there was more traffic on that road too - except for one "shortcut" that the GPS had me take, that was a little country road, and boy was it ever fun!)

Just came back from a cruise I took today. Ended up burning through almost 300 km's of back roads. Did Hockley Rd which was nice. Airport Rd and Hwy 10 have some steep and loooong hills further north. Also went on Forks of the Credit Rd (twice each way) as well as Mississauga Rd north of it which had some amazing hills with tight curves. Very exciting run that was at the speed limit (60 kmh). Sadly I made a bad choice on one road and ended up driving on a dirt/gravel road for a bit before I could turn around. That combined with the snow(!) and mud was not fun at all. Had to give the car a quick wash when I got home to clean off the mud from that. All in all a very fun day. The new exhaust sounded good and I think it's starting to break in and mellow out a bit (stupid 2000 rpm's).

Yeah I got the solo. Their shop is like 15 minutes away from me so if any issues come up they are right there. It sounds awesome, nice and deep. Gets a little raspy at WOT but still doesn't sound like the butt trumpet imports do.

I got the Solo as well back in november. Huge improvement.

Awesome link there Zeeman28a, Kind of renders this thread useless. Will still try to get some video of Forks of the Credit Rd up here and these other spots you guys suggested and others off that wicked link.

The best driving I've done in Ontario was on highway 11, south of North Bay. It mostly follows the terrain rather than blasting through it (like 69 on the way to Sudbury).

Appleby line just north of Derry, just a short little technical section. Not worth making a trip for but if you are out that way check it out.

That's a nice drive. One like it is driving the north shore of Superior on hwy 17. Good photo op's with your car for sure.

Best road by FAR I have ever driven is Southwood Rd 13.

http://bikeroads.atspace.com/sothwood.htm

Haven't done US129 yet but I'm told this is a close second place.

The Corvette guys have nicknamed that stretch The Tail of the Dragon - North Edition. It is a fun ride providing you don't get stuck behind some soccer mom in a mini van.
