Engine sounds weird

Hi guys,

I've come across a problem. I recently had a car accident, some of you may have read my thread. But eitherway, so I have an estimated 1800 dollars of bodywork quoted.. however, the insurance company says that my engine is probably not affected (my right fender, and a bit of the bumper is dented).

Eitherway, the problem now is, I've been driving with loud music ever since i got the car. But post accident, I've had the music off. I drive a v6 automatic and when i switch to paddle shifters, my Engine does this weird Jolt, and i hear a sound when i brake and it returns to Gear 1.

Has anything like this happened to you guys with Auto-Trans? Or if any of you know any tech stuff, I would like ur expert opinion. I would have it checked out at the dealer, but they said they would charge me just for the inspection. And I dont wanna pay more than I have to.

Thanks

Well, you can pay a professional to make sure your vehicle gets repaired under insurance if it is a problem.

Or you can ask a bunch of random people on the internet if "a clunk" is normal.

I'm sure you will get many attempts at answering as best they can but...just...pay the dealer to have it looked at. If he finds a problem it should be covered either by warranty or insurance. And if one of those two wont pay for it, there is a problem.

If nothing is wrong then, you spent...$80? For peace of mind.

Or he could ask a bunch of other camaro drivers and see if they have the same clunk and not worry about it too. People are dicks these days.

I don't really see why the dealer is going to charge you to look at it. If it is still under warrenty they should look at it under the warranty reguardless. And if the insurance company is trying to shaft you by saying the accident didn't cause it then you need to find a different claim adjustor.

Tell the body shop that does the repairs about it so they can have it checked out. If it was caused by the accident it would be paid by insurance and if not and it's something wrong it should be covered on warranty, unless they can prove it's something else you did to cause the condition.

Yeah there is no way your dealer should be charging you. Wierd noises and concerns are what warranty is for. If they want you to pay, tell them to suck an egg.
