oh dear, struts
I just realized that they, GM, put the phear back in mcpherson. Ok, packaging restraints . . . the reason ride engineers went back to an SLA front with the 4th gen was handeling performance.
Not a lot of tuning options with the strut. I did not say none, just not much. I assume the decision was platform driven no doubt. The rear is much improved with an SLA, but you don't see a macfearson on a vette. Wondering if there is a simple engineering reason why they went with struts? Cost, packaging, new and improved strut design.

Good question, I would have liked to see SLA & coilovers, but they're getting some good numbers with the strut setup...Maybe our Pedders friends can shed some light on 'why'.

Pedders makes fully adjustable/tunable struts for the Camaro.

An SLA is preferable for performance applications. Most times when the suspension is compressed, there is a given amount change that occurs to the camber angle, which in some cases can have a negative effect on vehicle handling.
I am familiar with some of the tunable struts that are out there, just wondering what aftermarket designs for our vehicle will be available that will compensate for some of the short comings that a strut can have.

XA's all 4 corners is all I ordered so far. There's some good discussion in this area from pedders about what will be available, including bushings. Do a search for 'pedders' or just roam thru the Wheel / Tires / Suspension / Brakes Talk area for pedders posts.
