MRT v2 or Flowmaster

I'm trying to decide between the MRT Version 2.0, or the Flowmaster American Thunder axle back exhaust systems for the V6.....

What would you guys choose?

Which one provides more performance/hp gains? From what I've read, these systems are more for sound rather then power gains, correct?

You're not going to gain a whole lot of horsepower from either system, they are just for sound. I just ordered the Flowmaster today. Hopefully it'll be installed by next week. It's up to you which one you want to choose, exhaust is more of a personal opinion thing than anything else.

Ask Scrming about the gains. He is around here somewhere. He basically lives in the V6 section. lol.

Is the only place you can purchase the MRT v2 directly from MRT's website for $499? Or can you purchase it elsewhere for cheaper?

I've seen the flowmaster system on multiple sites like Amazon and SLP's website for around $420 or so....

I believe you can only find it on MRT's site because they are fairly new. But you could try the for sale section on here.

Autoanything.com has the Flowmaster for $415.76. That's what I paid with the 10% discount they have today for first time customers

dtm, why did you decide on the flowmaster and not the MRT system?

My main reason was that it was cheaper then the MRT and I like the sound of both equally. Also my dad used to have a 57 Chevy with Flowmaster exhaust and I loved the sound, I know it's a totally different car but it sounded awesome.

I had the same problem. I liked the MRT2 and the Flowmaster AT. I went with Flowmaster cause of how long they have been in the business and also because they have a 10 year warranty on this system. I love them!!! Great sound, Great price and Great product. You can't go wrong with Flowmaster!!!

You will defintely be well pleased!!! I rode in my car for about three weeks without the radio on, just so I could hear that rumbling sound my new exhaust made.
