So what's the thing that attracts you most about the Camaro?

When I was doing comparison shopping, some forum people replied something like this "what is there to compare? You either like the Camaro or you don't". I found this reply puzzling because it seems they based their decision purely on the Camaro's looks.

Other posters have said before that people buy Camaro's because of all the attention they get. (read: the poster bought the Camaro for all the attention they get).

So it got me thinking: what is your PRIMARY motivator for getting the Camaro? I have designed the thread choices to avoid people voting based on knee-jerk responses, to get more thoughtful responses.

It's my fourth one. The horsepower, the six speed tranny, the horsepower, the horsepower, the looks. The GM reliabilty. It's an American car even though it is made in Canada. Blame the congress and CAFE for that. The bang for the buck.

so option 3 then? Please stick to the choices. Polls are designed the way they are because they're a controlled experiment. They're designed to show a specific trend.

The questions are phrased indirectly so as to avoid impulsive answers. In other words, they are phrased in the negative to bring out: what would have prevented you from buying the car? The answer to that question is likely to say what is most important to you when deciding why you bought your Camaro.

There are only 3 choices. Although a car purchase decision is likely a combination of reasons, what's the #1 thing that's most important to you? Please stick to the choices so we can see a clear trend. Thanks.

Sounds like you should choose option #2.

If the SS had 100 less HP, I would rather have a Mustang.

That being said, I would not have bought anything. I didn't need a car, I wasn't looking for a car, I didn't want a car. But I wanted THIS car. I HATED the 4th Gen, and my first car ever was a 73' Z-28 I bought in 1986 and by the time I was in the position to buy anything I wanted, I only wanted to buy new. And the 4th Gen was out. So when I saw this car, it was a no brainer. BUT, it had to have the performance to rival the competition.

PS: Sorry Fbodfather. lol

PQ, seriously - a Ford Challenger if the Camaro had less HP - those are almost as hot as the Camaro - almost. Lori

For me it's the whole package, the looks and power.

If they weren't making the Camaro, the sports car I was looking at was the RX8 strictly due to the looks. The only reason I didn't buy one the last time I was car shopping was because I wasn't sure how well I would like the rotary engine.

Second choice would have been a Mustang, and I still really like them.

I didn't need a car. I didn't want a car. But, I saw the Camaro which made me stop by and have a closer look. The test drive sealed the deal. I still have my other car as a daily driver (a 2002 Toyota Highlander). I will always have a 4WD vehicle for those crappy weather winter days. The Camaro is strictly a fair-weather toy to me and I'm having a lot of fun with it. None of the 3 choices in the poll are appropriate for me.

Oh yeah, I did test drive a Mustang GT Premium before buying the Camaro. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something there. I don't particularly like the looks of the Mustang. I just wanted to see if there was something wonderful about how they drive. There isn't. Just my opinion.

Wow, I'm surprised to see how many voters bought the car for the recognition...
