Question about noise for those with M6

This happens warm or cold and I wanted to know if it was normal or a possible problem...

I noticed that while I am coasting at slow speeds (usually in a parking lot, 1st or 2nd gear) and go to put the clutch in I will hear a fairly loud clunk noise when I press it in and its all the way engaged. It wont happen everytime but I'd say about 1/3rd or 1/2 the time. Is this normal with these cars as I never heard anything like that with my last car?

I think the problem is that the clutch is completely disengaging all at once instead of slowly. I do not think it has anything to do with the cold, just clutching technique. It took me a while to get used to the load on the clutch with the horsepower of the LS3.

No, I mean I can be coasting about 15 mph in neutral then go to put the clutch in and put the car in 2nd and when I press down on the clutch and the car is rolling it will make a clunk noise...does that make sense?

I've never noticed anything like that. Like I tell everyone, I'd take it to the dealer and take the mechanic out and show him. If it ends up being something of importance, GM will bulletin it so everyone can have their car checked out.

Raise the engine speed a little, that may stop the clunk. I know it is a fully synchronized transmission, but you are probably hearing some driveline slack.

I had the same thing happen to me the other day twice. Once at the drive thru and again at a stop sign. It was loudest at the stop sign. I was headed down a slight decline to the stop sign at slow speed (still in 1st actually). When I pressed in the clutch I heard a fairly loud bang. It has only happened at slow speeds when I press the clutch in fast. I started easing the clutch in and haven't noticed it since. I haven't driven a manual in 10 years so I just thought I was a little rusty.

Mine does it too. If you disengage the the clutch a little earlier it helps.

I have some noise too coasting around 7-15mph in a parking garage. To me it sounds more like a hollow, metalic snort or gurgle than a clunk. Like if a robot had a sinus infection and blew its nose... if you can imagine... lol It also sounds like it is coming from underneath the right in the middle (right under the back seat.)

I've been searching around in here and I've been experiencing the same clunking/rattle type noise when I disengage the clutch at low speeds (10mph), like you would do in bumper to bumper traffic. Has anyone gone to the dealership for this yet? If so, did you get an explanation?

Thanks,
Rich

Yeah, me too... If it is "normal", I think it's kinda shitty to spend $35,000+ on a car and and have people stare at you in a parking lot cuz you have clutch-chatter

Yeah my 2006 Civic SI's clutch/transmission did not make a single noise and it was $22,900 brand new haha. If there is a fix for this eventually I want in! For now it's not a huge deal I guess.

I had a similar issue with the GTO, mainly this comes from a 2 piece drive shaft. Does this car have a 2 piece or solid drive shaft? I have heard it slightly on the Camaro also, the fiix is basically to press the clutch a hair slower.
