Talking Possibly the best deal in Camaro history!!!

Hey guys! As some of you may know I'm very new to this site, as a member at least. But I've been following it for almost a year now. I've always dreamed of owning a Camaro of my own one day but didn't think it would ever happen for me.

My previous vehicle was bought used, it was my first car after all...

And had a TON of issues, it had been leaking coolant somewhere since the day I got it, no drips or anything of the sort but about every two weeks I needed to refill my coolant bottle. It had been looked at 3 times by different mechanics and they couldn't find the source of my problem. Radiator, hoses, water pump, heater core, everything had been checked including a head gasket leak. They just couldn't find a thing wrong with it.

None of the power windows worked and the car burned oil pretty bad. I suspect it was normal though for a car with about 120k on the odometer, it took 6 quarts and I'd get about 3 to 3.5 back out when changing my oil at 3000 mile intervals. The front brake calipers needed to be rebuilt because they were starting to make this very loud clicking noise...mechanic told me it was the caliper shifting over the rotor as I applied the brakes. He says it was due to old age and they simply just needed to be replaced...

I loved my car, a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 in Onyx Green Pearl...it was gorgeous it changed from green to purple depending on the light. But the car was turning into a money pit, and at 9 years of age with 120,000 miles it was bound to give up the ghost soon enough.

So I was able to talk my co-signer into heading down to a new car dealership and look at what we could get for a trade in. I only wanted a V6 Camaro for MPG reasons and insurance, but there were only 3 on the lot. One RJT no stripes beige leather, and one VR with black stripes and black interior. Someone was already test driving the RJT so we took the VR out for a spin. Both were automatic and I loved the car but hated that A6. I think it took all the soul out of the Camaro. Once we got back the salesman asked me if he should run some numbers on the car and see what we get so I said sure. Well on the way in they had a Synergy right next to the front door. The others were 2LT's with auto, BA sound system, etc. so I knew the Synergy would likely be cheaper since it was a stick...

Now this is where the magic happened...

I told him to run the numbers on that instead so he seated us at his desk and shortly returned with a figure. $30,097. I laughed in his face and said theres no way, I asked him what the MSRP was, "$27,895.70" was his response.

I quickly informed him that was not going to happen, and told him I could get this same configuration on Chevy.com for $25,XXX MSRP. He basically at that point called me a liar and I got up and said thats fine I'll just take my business elsewhere. Lets just say his attitude was very different from there on out. I've always said you know your doing something right when all the managers come out to personally speak with you on making a deal (6 to be exact).

So the sales manager sits down with me and says, "What do I need to do to keep your business today?" I told him below invoice, and mentioned I could get it easily from this site and from a dealer 20 minutes from them who is a member on this site. I was about to walk out again when they started hassling me, but was interrupted halfway through a sentence when I heard, "how about $1000 below invoice?"...as you can imagine that definitely got my attention.

According to Chevy.com a Synergy 1LT with power sunroof and compact spare tire option with floor mats and destination charge MSRP's at $27,840. I had the dealer show me documented proof of what they payed for the car, which was $27,051. Take another thousand off that price, and throw in $3200 trade in value on my busted piece o crap Jeep and I got OUT THE DOOR, tax, title, tags, extended six year warranty with tire and wheel coverage for $23,000!!!! And at 3.5% APR financing my payment is only $211 per month on a six year loan!

Oh and I forgot to mention, my mother drives a Pontiac Aztek, which scored me another discount of $1000

I'll get pics ASAP so yea I know worthless thread but I just wanted to share the great deal I got.

They must have really been hurting to sell some Camaro's, I'm guessing they don't have much allocation for 2011's and thats how I got them to deal.

And to put the cherry on top, my insurance only went up $75 a year.

and 211 at 3.5% for 72 comes out to around 20k which is what I payed. 211x72 is 15192. 3.5% of that number is 5317.20.

The taxes were payed in cash not added to the loan. which makes up the 2.5k difference.

You had a member dealer 20 minutes away and didn't use them?

Good work with the negotiation and congrats on the car, but something is awry.

for a $20k loan at 72 months, 2.9 percent ($15.15 for everything 1k borrowed) it comes out to $303 per month.

I used 2.9 percent because on my sheet it doesn't show 3.5, so even with a lower rate then what you got, the monthly payment is still 100 dollars more with a 72 month loan, with a 60 month loan that would be $358.4 per month, again at 2.9 percent

eh, lol. I wanted to see what kind of deal I could get, and IMO it was too good to pass up, plus with 1k below invoice I figured even with a member dealer, I probably wouldn't get much better, plus this dealer was already over 20 minutes from my house to begin with, so the dealer on this site was almost an hour away.

very close actually. In total everything came to about 23k. tax, title, and tags took the price from around 21k to 23k. those were payed in cash, and the rest was financed, so ~21k at 3.5% interest for 72 months puts my payments in the low 200's.

Your math is fuzzy, 23000 divided by 72 months is 319.44 per month with no interest. Hmmmmm.

DOH!!!

I feel super stupid...

I completely forgot that I wrote a check for 10k down....LMFAO!!

I guess it slipped my mind lol cause I was so caught up in getting the car the check was the last thing on my mind...

Please forgive my stupidness and be gentle with the comments that I know are going to follow

Hopefully this clears up the pricing a bit
