Thumbs up Thank you Tirerack!!

So Tuesday I go out to my car to find a nail in onr of my tires. It was pretty deep in there but wasn't loosing air pressure. So wednesday morning I take it to the dealership, and the service manager gives me a straight up answer.

He says the nail it too close to the wall and isn't fixable. He also says I have to get a new tire and would be better off buying and intalling it elsewhere, because, as he syas "we overcharge".

So first thing I do is check online for tire prices. Tirerack, by far had the cheapest replacement pirrelli's I was able to find. I ordered my tire from tirerack at about 2 PM that day (shipped from Las vegas).

The next morning, to my amazement, I am woken up by someone at the door. I answer the door to see my brand new tire sitting there. I honestly did not expect it till at least today (friday), and if not Friday I was expecting Tuesday because of the Labor Day weekend.

The best part is that I go to the local tireshop to get it mounted, and as soon as the guy sees that I brought my own tire, he says, "You know it would be cheaper to buy the tire here because the mounting an balancing is free if you buy from us." I say, "Oh, yeah? How much is my tire here?"
He looks it up and says the tire is $240 and of course taxes, and everything else is free. The catch was that they didn;t have my tires in stock and would take 2-3 days for them to recieve. I didn't tell him how much I paid for the tire, but just laughed a bit when I received my receipt for $30.

In case you guys aren't keeping up with the prices on tire rack, the tire was $200 plus $19 shipping.

When all is said and done, I paid the same amount to have my tire there the next day, rather than wait until Friday or posssibly Tuesday.
