Tracking 2011 Camaro's in Canada

Thought I would start a new thread since the 2011 started production today. My question: Once I get my order # from the dealer, do I have to depend on the dealer to keep me informed of tracking status?
Preordered Tues. May 18, and only have a copy of the "New Vehicle Purchase Agreement". I signed over the title for my trade-in on that date (I have a 2nd car to drive while waiting). Today, emailed my sales person requesting my Order # and order status Code #. When I pre-ordered Tues. May 18th was told my order was going to GM that week and should expect delivery sometime end of July or first week of Aug.
Since many on the Canada forum went through the pre-order process already, just wanted advice if I should, or can do anything more to track my order process (other than don't hold my breath while waiting for delivery - LOL).

Congrats on the order. I am a little further ahead on the ordering scale for a 2011.

Since you are in Canada, the only way to track your order is by calling 1-800-GM DRIVE option 5, you will need the 6 digital order number that your dealer can give you, and they will give you the information you are looking for.

To get an idea of the different stages of the order\production, look for the thread on tracking your Camaro.

I used the GM DRIVE # and they were only able to provide the week of projected build then that it was built awaiting delivery. My 2011 2SS RS was ordered by Wilson Niblett in Richmond Hill Ontario on May 31st and was build the week of June 21st....picking it up today June 30th!!! Guess I had a bit of good luck as an order was placed 2 days after mine and the projected build was 6 months away.

Tired of Waiting

I ordered a 2010 on 4/17/10, Dealer said I could still get one. Then informed that I had to wait for a 2011, the build date was the first week. On 6/25 was informed that there was a delay & it would be built late July. Cancelled & bought a 2010 2LT RS on sale yesterday at a different dealership, great car love it. Good luck.
