Fixing up the Camaro

I have a 98 camaro which up until this point has been all factory its a v6. I wasnt worried about speed just want to make it look nice. I know i can do headlights, taillights, and the grills what are some other things i can do to the inside and out to fix it up. I found this website called bestlambodoors.com they had the kit to change the doors with the brackets and shocks for only $279.00.

I don't think that you will gain anything by doing anything more then putting a nice paint job on your ride.

The V6 Camaro was a pretty plain Jane version and isn't really worth putting a whole bunch of money into.

Last year my brother bought a wrecked SS for $1500 off Ebay and we brought it home and he beat out the dents with a claw hammer and he took it to get painted and the bodyman had a fit and told him not to do anymore body work with a claw hammer. That it took more work to straighten what he tried to straighten then what it would have took - had he left it alone.

He now has about a $10,000 Camaro, that he only has about $8000 into.

He could have probably just bought one off the lot and been better off - because if the state you live in puts a R on the title - you are screwed.

Once you mess with the structure - sometime in the future - they might include cars that were modified into the same group as cars that were damaged in a wreck. That would not only screw with the value of the vehicle, but would also screw you if it was involved in a wreck and they had to pay to replace the vehicle. - It wouldn't be worth as much as a plain old stock Camaro.

Honestly, just make it a good DD.

Only put money into something you are SURE you are going to keep, usually a SS, Z28, WS6, TA, V8 car.

You guys aren't answering his question. If you can get a good lambo door kit for that much i would do it...although since it is cheap it mite not be the best. But for interior i would say some leather seats if you have cloth. And exterior you could go for a lowering kit or sumthin.Really it's your car and whatever you think you would like i would do it.

I wouldn't do lambo doors if somebody paid me to. They're tacky and they don't look all that good, in my opinion.

Just get a new paint job and some nice looking wheels and you'll be set on the exterior. Interior has a lot of room for customization - you could get the seats recovered, get contrast stitching, etc etc. Lots of room to customize in there.

You have to shave the front quarter panel to were it meets up to the side view mirror. The contour to the mirror housing on the door. The door needs to get past that when opening up. So you have to figure in the cost of body and paint to customise it so it still kinda flows.

I'd suggest some nice wheels, whistler mod the headlights, and lower it.
