5th gen devalue

What do you guys think the 5th gen 2010's will devalue by year??? just an interesting subject to talk about, as i will prob. buy a used one in a couple years, because after owning one, i regret getting rid of it. just state what you think the car will devalue to. especially the SS's.

like ALL cars it is a depreciating asset!..who knows?..in my view, values SHOULD stay high!..one concern is the car fits a particular market, and as such, will only appeal to a certain buyer...another concern is if the car starts to 'break" after two,or three years!..this will also be a determining factor, because the car is a new design, and no one really knows right now,IF the car will hold up over the long term!..on the other hand, being a camaro definately helps it,whether it is "junk" or not!

Camaros will depreciate just like any other new car as more and more new and used ones hit the streets and dealer lots. It's a matter of quantity and demand. We just sold a 7 year old very popular SUV we paid $40,000 for new, for $12,000.00 and we were glad to get it.
Depreciation is part of the cost of owning any new car.

traded in my 2SS for 33,100.

paid 35,835 (sticker) one year prior. 23k hard miles (rim damage, body damage, need for new tires, etc).

your milage will vary though.

It will also depend on how many camaros are out on the road. The more there are, the less resale value they'll have. Hopefully this gen will only be produced until 2012. That'll be good for the guys who plan on selling.

I bet that's not going to happen. GM will have to keep this 5th generation Camaro at least 5 years to be profitable. Many changes and styling updates but the basic body will not change through 2014 is my guess.

well i had one, and it was 32,460(base 1ss) and when we traded it in, in excellent condition, we only got 25 for it. which leads me to believe in a couple of years of hard part time work in college that i could perhaps put a big down payment on a used one.

As more are produced and miles increase..the resale will go down, just part of car ownership :(

If you're wanting out of your 2010..do it now. If you wait until the next generation are about to hit, have 55,000 miles on the car and the roads have a half million 5th gen's on the road..you'll take a bath.
