The FIRST time, I think I changed it at 1500 due to something I read on here. Now I do it when the computer says.

1500 after the break-in phase was complete. Did the rear diff at the same time, both with synthetics.

I did mine right around 1700 miles and will be doing it every 3000 miles after. I belive the manual says every 7500miles but the dealership recomends it every 5000 from i've been told since the cars the car uses like 8.9qts of oil or something like that. The 1st oil change i did my car took 8 qts and it was perfect because their is still some oil left in the lines of the oil cooler.

I went on the safe side and did the first one at 500 (to get out any metal shavings)....then at 1500 and next will be around 7500. Then ever 6k or so after that.

after 1000 miles breakin, then every 3000. forget the book or the computer, go with your gut. Half my friends are engine auto mechanics and racers and everyone of them do this type of change using synthetics. It's better safe than sorry and you will extend the life of the engine and get better performance for the long haul. I've been doing it this way for over 35 years.

Haven't got there yet, but it'll be at 3000 miles for my first one, and then 5000 for every other. Oils need a certain amount of heat cycles otherwise they don't carry debris and dirt as well. It's actually risky to change your oil before 1000 miles.
And for the record, synthetics do NOT lubricate better than traditional oils. The only benefit is their ability to process and circulate particles and contaminants more effeciently - which should be done by a quality filter rather than the oil itself. So if you're going to invest in top shelf oils, make sure that you're also researching the quality of the filter. The filter is what will keep your engine alive longer. Vince

O'Relly's has Castrol (the good stuff-reg. $8.xx a qt) and Mobil 1 filter on sale for $31. You only get 5 qts but it saves you a bunch.
