Maybe, but we'll have to wait until we get more details. If it's somehow recyclable it would be a godsend, but if not then we have to worry about storing the spent fuel somehow. . . or we could just reboot the space program launch it all into the sun

On a more serious note, this is very, very interesting.

If it is anything like current batteries it should be able to be recharged. If not, I feel like it isn't worth it.

My guess would be that it's the same gel coming out as going in, it just doesn't have a "charge" left in it.

I imagine the "tank" that the spent "fuel" would get emptied into would run this spent "fuel" through an attached system that would effectively re-charge the gel for the next consumer.

Think of, in the Matrix, the goo that Neo and all of the other humans were suspended in so the machines could harness their body heat.

Interesting. Though I'm trying to think about this on a mass production scale. There would need to be "gel" stations specifically for this stuff. Meaning we have to build these stations or find a way to convert gas stations to "gel" stations.

Some Lighting Manufacturers are developing Light Emitting Plasma Lamps
(think of the '80s novelty lamps from Spencer's Gifts that had 'Lightning' bolts inside the glass - similar but not quite the same, but you get the idea) and using Cell Tower/Cell Phone Radio Waves (RF) to provide the power.

Lots cool stuff being developed!

But its a lot less infrastructure than putting charging stations at every parking space, or creating hydrogen filling stations.

Yes I know, but I feel like we can both agree that hydrogen cars are not possible on a mass production scale. I mean the cost to capture and transport the hydrogen alone is enough on its own. I was just saying that this isn't an overnight switch that we could do. It would take years, possibly decades, before we could convert over to this "electro-jelly"

I bet they will have a difficult time bringing this concept to reality...enough energy is stored in those batteries to kill you....
