Wouldn't it be great if...

With the Ford GT 500 HP announcment and all the smack talking that is surely being dealt right now wouldn't be great if chevy all along has been keeping a big secret to unleash in a few months...like a 700hp LS7 supercharged Z28. Here all along Ford was thinking that the ZL1 was aimed at the GT500 when really it was GM's track answer to the Boss 302. The mighty Z28 with a forged supercharged 427 comes out and spanks the GT500 before it even goes to sell. Maybe that will explain the limited run of ZL1 too... just dreaming out loud....R you listening GM???

Just remember the GT500, for years, was engineered with 800hp in mind.

For 3, or more, years now you could have had a 650hp GT500 with a factory warranty.

This is old news/parts finally being put on stock.

Wait for the new power package Ford will offer to the new GT500 to see where the car goes next.

That will never happen. The Camaro will never get to that, if anything, it will be the 'vette. It's their flagship after all.

The ZR-1 has nothing to fear from the mustang....any of them. The Z-06 might be looking over thier shoulders a little

Hey look, they are gonna make what they think they can sell! If the camaro continues to outsell, they will have no reason not to keep pursuing new models. They have a car that is very popular and it's not going away. The corvette is a small market compared to the camaro.

It would be even better if there were not 1000 threads popping up about it.

There will ALWAYS be something better/faster out there.

(This is not directed towards you and this thread specifically).

Exactly. If the vette doesn't get upgraded, neither does the Camaro. The Camaro will never have a more powerful engine than the vette.

YEP , you can have all the horses you want , but it would do no good if you can't keep them on the ground

We're talking a $110,000 car vs. a ~$60,000 car. The GT500 should not be compared to the ZR1.

However, the highest performing car from Ford is the GT500. That's pretty weak when you consider the Corvette and Camaro ammunition from GM.
