Oshawa Plant?

Howdy,

I heard tell a few months back that the Oshawa, Canada plant was to shuttered, closed and the new Camaros to be moved to the Bowling Green, KY, USA site, home of the Corvette...

Is any of the above true? I do know that when the Camaros ceased production after 2002, GM closed the Quebec plant, then home to the Camaro and Firebird.

Not wishing anything bad on the Oshawa plant, had family that used to work there years ago, just asking.

Thanks.

nope

I did hear part of the plant was closing, but it didn't have anything to do with Camaro production.

The Camaro ( Flex Plant ) is not closing . The Plant next door ( under same roof ) is closing over the next 12-15 months , it builds the current Chevy Impala and Chevy Equinox.

The Flex plant builds Camaro coupe , Convertible , ZL1 , 1LE , Buick Regal , Cadillac XTS , and the all new 2013 Chevy Impala in early 1st or 2nd Qtr 2013. Hope this helps.

Mike

Thanks everyone for the clarification. Besides having an Uncle working there in the 1950' through the 80's, my Dad bought a 73 3/4 ton Chevy pickup truck brand new for $3600, and grumbled all the way home. That truck never saw one day of leisure, was a work truck forever, and lasted until 1997 with so many miles we gave up counting, as back then, in the day, the odometer rolled over after 99,999.

The good old days, regular leaded gas at 35 cents a gallon, where men were men and women were glad of it...
