How often do you look at the guages cluster?
I have a 1SS (without the gauges cluster below the radio) and was thinking about getting the cluster because apparently the part is 100% interchangeable. I'm not trying to fake having a 2SS, I just really like the look of the cluster, especially at night. My question is: how useful is the actual information? Do you ever purposefully look at the gauges? I'm having a hard time justifying giving up my storage space there and spending $350+ on something if it won't tell me anything useful...
Thanks! |

I enjoy mine. Most peeps comment on it when they ride with me.
I look at once or twice a day but nothing real steady during driving. With the heads up display I stay focused on the road ahead. KaBoom |

Mostly aesthetic for me. I get compliments on them when people ride with me. They look great, they're not a necessity, but damn they look cool. Haha. It was one of the reasons why I wanted a 2LT versus 1LT.

I look at it a few times while I'm driving, if longer than like 10 minutes.

It's useful when its cold. You can watch the needle move towards the center until your transmission is warmed up enough to get on it

He would have to make sure they swap wiring harnesses too.

I look at mine alot, while driving also. Once you get used to them a quick glance is all it takes. After an oil change I watch the oil pressure real close. I look at the battery gauge to make sure the needle is showing proper volts. I really like the oil temp gauge. I know when it is ok to get on it. Don't like to jump on it till the oil is up to temp, same goes for the tranny temp.

Honestly, they're just for show!! Definitely can't look at them while you're driving!! Go with it if its for show... Don't if its for function... Useless! Just my opinion....
![]() A pillar gauges would be better for function.....

Interesting, thanks guys. I really do like the look of them and I live in the mountains so it's generally cold as a witches t1tty from now til March, having oil temp and tranny temp might actually be very helpful. I think I'll pull the trigger on this one...
Angrybird can you please send a link or tell me where to find the wiring harness that I would need if I found a cluster without the harness? Thanks everyone |

A lot, really glad I have them. The trans temp and oil temp are the important ones I watch. Operating temp for both is about the 12 o'clock position, so I only have to glance at them to know it's good.
Sent from my SAMSUNG Galaxy S III using telekinesis.

The only thing useful for me is the oil temp, which is the slowest temp to go up after water and trans. I wait for it to at least start moving before I punch it, but everybody love how cool it looks
