One of the local dealers is an idiot.

I FINALLY got to see one in person.

WOW!!!!

One of the local dealers got two in, one black and one orange, both 2SS's. I popped down after work to have a look and talked to one of the salesman. He said both are sold and they have four more coming in during the next month or so. None are pre-orders, all are stock. They sold both that are here now, but none of the others are spoken for yet. 3 are v8's.

I tell him I am going to wait for a convertible, and he starts to tell me that they will NEVER make them. I said, sure they will, it only makes sense. Once the hype is starting to calm down, it only makes sense to crank it back up again.

He gets incredibly argumenative, and all that is going through my mind is that when it is time to order, I am not going to get one from him.

Not only is the argument non-productive, but who would want someone working for them that is not upbeat and positive, no matter how much things are going sideways.

This dealer has already been told they are not one of the dealerships that is on the chopping block.

No matter how bad buisiness is, it is always "good".

No matter how good buisness is, it can always get better.

I would not tolerate for one moment that kind of negativity from one of my employees.

Anyway, what a wonderful car. I put my eyes on every square inch of the outside of it. When they asked me if I wanted to look inside, I declined. I said it was somone elses car and I would not want anyone in mine.

Rats.... 23 months to go...

I don't see what incentive there is for a dealer to argue with a customer. If they don't make a convertible in a little while, you might end up going back to the nice dealer who would have sold you one. If they do make one, you probably would go back to the dealer who you visited before. Him arguing ruins both of these possibilities, unless there's no other chevy dealers around.

Funny thing is that I am playing with the idea of getting a v6, then if and when the Rag tops happen, turning the v6 into a v8 street/strip car.

He pretty much stopped me from doing it with his dealership if I go in that direction.
