ZL-1 conversion question
Hey guys, Ive looked around the forum for a bit even used the search engine and cant really seem to find out what im looking for.
Im converting my 2SS front end to a ZL-1 front end. I would like the lights to function normally and I would like to use the factory ZL-1 light switch to control the fogs (not talking about the DRL's). Does anyone know what ill need to do this correctly? My first thought was to order the GM ZL-1 fog light harness and the ZL-1 light switch. They are only 59 shipped to my door from GMpartsdirect. seems like a fair price I am just unsure what else ill have to get. any help with this would be greatly appreciated....thanks guys!

Ofer (gen5diy.com) was working on a mod to let you use the the non-RS light switch (center button) to control the fogs on ZL1 front end upgrades.
If the ZL1 fog light switch is the same thing then this might be the item you need. If the Zl1 fog light switch is an entirely separate switch then he probably has a harness for that already.

the ZL-1 switch is (i guess) like the non rs switch with the center foglight button. I checked out his website but the descriptions on his harnesses are a little confusing......suppose i'll have to call him. Thanks intensifi

No problem!
That's what we are here for. The last he told me the non-RS light switch for the ZL1 conversion is not a standard product for him just yet. It's in process. There is a thread on here about it somewhere. Ofer's handle on camaro5 is 2SSRS.

Don't waste ur money on any harrnes , just wire both the DRLs and the fogs with the sidemarker and that's it, I did it on my car and I love it , I can have them on when I turn my halos or headlight on , n the best thing about them is they both come on at the same time.

I have his harness from my RS to ZL1 conversion. The fog lights comes on together with the halos or headlights during the night or when you switch it on to halos or headlights during the day time. The DLR lights runs only in the day. I think running both DLR's and Fog lights looks awkward.

^ agreed. I want all of the lights to work just like they did with the standard RS package.....I just want a switch to turn on the Fog's just like its setup in the ZL-1. I'd also rather run the factory switch, which can be purchased for about 24 dollars.

I'm only doing it because i got in a small wreck a couple of weeks ago and the price difference was like 200 to go with all ZL-1 stuff......kinda made sense in my case. ZL-1 looks sick and i can't afford the 65K sticker price. Fear not though...it will have SS badges on it, im not trying to "fake the funk".

Because I like the look of the bumper with the fogs. If they made the Jay Leno bumper I would've got that.
