anybody have a friend...........

Who doesn't know when, how or what not to say? Don't get it? Lucy lemme splain! I have this friend who've I've known for bout 11 years. Real cool guy who my whole family likes. Problem is when he's on the grog (beer) he sometimes says things he shouldn't. Not vulger, disrespectful things to my wife or family. More like things he and I talk about. Example! One day we say this drop dead bombshell of a woman, and being men, we commented on her, uh, talents. Well my bud come over the following week and blurts this out after a few cans o suds. (Face palm!) I tried to play dumb but my wife knows me better than I do. I had to put my foot up my friends ass the next day. Course he didn't memr! Arg! He's a cool guy and a great drinking buddy but damn dude put a cork in around the mrs! This has happened more than once but trying to shut his yap is like trying to know a womans mind. You just can't do it. C'mon, I know I'm not the only one with a dumbass friend.

It's unrealistic to think you can change your friend's behavior; especially when drinking.

If all he is saying are innocent truths, I don't see the problem. Having a friend that might blurt out the truth may serve to keep you on the straight and narrow. And that is a good friend to have.

From your example, was your wife mad that you commented/observed the "talents" of another woman? Assuming it was truly just harmless and she has no reason to suspect anything, if she got mad than perhaps it is her behavior that may need adjustment.

Beer, friends and wifes is not a good mix. Once something is said you can never take it back. In the end you have the power, say nothing that will bite you in the arse. JMO.

and in the case of your friend....personally, seeing as how he can't keep his mouth shut about ANYTHING.....either don't have him over, or if you do....NO SUDS for him.

I believe you are looking for couth, that's what he has a lack of.

Fortunately most of my friends, even the drunks, clam up around family and what not.

The other day, my buddy was over. My wife was talking, and she said something about her best friend Heather... Jon interupted and said to ME, "Oh, that's Heather, huh? The one you said was mega- hot?"

Yep. That went over pretty well.

Ding, ding, ding! Bingo! You know what I'm saying?! I told my friend about what he said and he says "well come over and well drink about it".
