Lingenfelter Creates 2014 Camaro Z/28 Packages
ORIGINAL STORY HERE
Lingenfelter Creates 2014 Camaro Z/28 Packages If the ultimate track car isn’t enough for you, there’s always “moar!” Lingenfelter raises the bar by creating five various performance packages for the Z/28. By Stephanie Davies, Photography by GM GM High-Tech Performance, April 25, 2014 Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is at it again. The infamous LPE went to work immediately following the introduction of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and has created five various performance packages to raise the bar for those who are not completely content with the stock 505 horses. Each package is professionally installed, tested, and tuned by Lingenfelter and a chassis dyno report both before and after installation is included in the price. Each modified Z/28 will receive a Lingenfelter certificate of authenticity and can be built from start to finish in approximately 4 weeks with prior notice. The first package offered by Lingenfelter for the 2014 Camaro Z/28 will put you right around the 616 horsepower mark with 560 lb-ft of torque. The package includes the disassembly of the engine and the addition of a LPE LS7 GT19 camshaft by Competition Cams. Professional degreeing of the cam and reassembly, as well as Ferrea high performance dual valve springs, titanium retailers, and valve locks are all included. The engine is fitted with a port-matched LS7 intake manifold and ported and polished LS7 throttle body, as well as a 160-degree throttle body and crank bolt, gaskets, and fluids.. This package in particular will run you $6,646. The second package offered by Lingenfelter for the Z/28 produces about 630 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. For this package, the engine is extracted and the intake manifold, cylinder heads, and camshaft are removed. Lingenfelter CNC ports and polishes the heads for optimal flow and performs a multi-angle valve job and surfacing for 11.5:1 compression. GM head gaskets and head bolts are used during the professional engine assembly. As with the first package, Ferrea high-performance dual valve springs, titanium retainers, and valve locks are used, as is a port-matches LS7 intake manifold, ported and polished LS7 throttle body, and 160-degree thermostat. If this package interests you, be ready to shell out about $10,146. Still not enough power for you? How about 660 horses and 585 lb-ft of torque at your fingertips? The third package from Lingenfelter will run you about $11,146 and includes everything from the second package with the exception of an LPE LS7 GT21 camshaft by Competition Cams which causes a more aggressive idle. Because of this, while all of the other packages listed here assure excellent drivability and no adverse affects on highway fuel mileage, the same might not be said for this particular package. It also includes a Lingenfelter high-flow C6 Z06 air induction and 4-inch diameter LPE mass air sensor, as well as higher-capacity LS7 fuel injectors. The last two packages feature superchargers. The first is outfitted with a Magnuson TVS2300 intercooled supercharger system and puts down 657 horsepower and 582 lb-ft of torque and costs $10,995. It includes a black powdercoated finish, properly sized injectors, fuel system upgrades, and a Lingenfelter high-flow air intake, as well as a 160-degree thermostat. While all of the previous packages come with a Lingenfelter 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, this package comes with a Magnuson 3-year/36,000-mile warranty on the supercharger assembly. It also is the only kit to be equipped with Lingenfelter fender badges. Last but not least, the final package includes the Edelbrock E-Force TVS2300 supercharger pushing the Z/28 to produce a stealth 657 horsepower and 582 lb-ft of torque – the same output as the other supercharged package. The TVS2300 intercooled supercharger features a CNC engraved Lingenfelter logo and is based on the original equipment manufacturer Eaton supercharger unit. It has in common with the fourth package the inclusion of a black powdercoated finish and properly sized fuel injectors. It will also run you $10,995 and includes an Edelbrock 1-year/12,000-mile warranty on the supercharger assembly. The power and price estimates mentioned above are accurate for Camaro Z/28s already outfitted with American Racing Headers long tube headers. If a Z/28 is not already equipped with them, Lingenfelter suggests purchasing them in addition to each package for an additional $1,799 plus installation. Be sure to check out www.lingenfelter.com for more information on any of these packages.

In a straight line, for sure. Not sure how much faster these might be on track, and I'd never want a supercharger on track. It's interesting to see the HP and torque numbers they're getting by massaging the LS7, though. Wonder how these mods impact the flexibility and drivability on track? Would like to see those curves...

I'd love to see the first package up against the Porsche GT3. The Z/28 beat it with standard HP this addition would be amazing on the track...and only $6,700. over the car.

Each to his/her own but the Z/28 is rock and roll ready as is. Blower power is not going to really help you on most tracks and the suspension on the Z's are about as trick as possible off the assembly line.
Hey teachers! Leave those kids alone!

When a supercharged Z/28 passes you on the back straightaway on the road course you will reconsider not wanting one. Trust me. LPE for the win!!

if you're only going to track it choose option #3 (the less street-able option). I bet it sounds brilliant!

Cheese and rice $6600 for a cam upgrade. Is it a gold plated cam installed by Kim Kardashian in a thong on the moon? That's just crazy

Better wrap it twice. If Kim's VJ were made into a tire, you'd have your first lifetime radial. She's a high mileage piece ...

I'd think you'd be best served looking for a different port, as her vayjayjay is beyond warranty period.
