Angry Bad Service

Hi everyone, I'm having a really bad service for my Camaro, my car is at the dealership coz the transmission has an issue, they've changed some parts and the transmission still has a noisy sound when it shifts to second, that means they've changed some parts that weren't the issue and what pissed me off is that they said we can NOT fix more, ''THE CAR IS READY FOR PICK UP''I'm really tired of This dealership

The car is been a month at the dealership

Explain what happened with your car, what problems exactly are you having...is the transmission grinding when you try to shift into 2nd?

Then they should still be working to fix it. You need to speak with the dealership, the service manager is necessary and find out exactly what they have done, what they believe the problem to be, and why they won't work on it further.

Yes, you can call GM, but the first thing they will do is call the dealer and find out what is going on. So it would be nice for you know EXACTLY what is going on before you start complaining. It won't get any better if you piss off the dealership, because if this is warranty work, they have already touched the car and are on the hook to fix it.

They had your car for a month? Were you provided a loaner car? Sorry about your tranny. I wish you all the best.

I must have blinked and missed it but somewhere along the line the post recession " New GM " seems to have reverted back to the decades old GM culture that was supposed to be gone forever. I couldn't have been any more naive.

Here is a dealership story. My wife has a '09 Escape and it had about 20K miles on it. On the way to work, it stopped pulling and made a strange noise. I called the dealership where we bought the vehicle about a possible trans issue and I was told do not bring it to them because they didn't have a transmission tech at that time! So I went to another dealer, she got a loaner and the problem was a defective C/V shaft. For a dealership to give up sounds strange, but maybe their tech is in training.

Stay on it until you're 100% satisfied with the final result. Stay in contact with GM Customer Service. Keep detailed records of who, when and all the facts everytime you communicate with everyone. Escalate to the general manager or dealerhip owner as appropriate. If they tell you its normal ask to drive a similar year Camaro on the lot and decide for yourself.
If you can, try to get a friend or relative to go with you who is somewhat car savvy to take good notes and not getting personally involved. As much as it can seem personal, keep it factual and detailed. In the long run, if you are still not satisfied you might want to try using a different dealerships service center. Good luck and hang in there.

A word to the wise, you are not married to your dealer. If after a year or two they seem to suck, then ditch them. You don't have to put up with bad service! They need you more than you need them. Dealerships are a dime a dozen. Just find the one you are happy with.

There sure seems to be a lot of threads about bad dealer service and I'm sorry to see that. All this make me really hesitant to use a dealer for any kind of service unless absolutely necessary.

Just tossing this out there -- but has anyone had a positive experience from a dealer? Mine was fine (mostly) during the purchase process, but after that, not so much.
