2014 Heat extractor on 2010 Camaro

I'm thinking about getting the heat extractor but I was wondering how/if it prevents water from getting into the engine bay when it rains or when I'm washing it? Also, how hard is it to install? Because I am going to have my accessories guy at my local Chevy dealership install it. Oh and does anyone have any pictures of the heat extractor on a 2010-13 Camaro ss with rally stripes on? If so post pics. Thanks!

super easy install! You can do it yourself. If you buy the water tray that goes with it, then you won't have the water issues.

You sir, have balls! I couldn't cut a hole in my perfectly good hood. I'd be way to afraid of goofing something up, no matter how simple it may seem.

Mines on order and will be here this week for my 2010. Part#'s are:

Scoop P/N: 22828242
Deflector P/N: 23180572
Baffle: P/N: 22828415

The deflector is the part that sits on top of the radiator and drains the water down the side instead of dumping it on top. As stated there is a DIY in that section that gives all the part numbers and tips and measurements for installing this.

How much was everything total? I like this mod cause even if underneath is not perfect the vent covers it up regardless.

/agree with this.

Definitely get the trip tray. Or whatever it's called for the Camaro. The 5.0's with the vents use the under-hood liner to direct the water off to the sides of the engine compartment and the way they are shaped, they will hold a good bit of water before dripping into the engine compartment (the hoodliner is waterproof). Once you get up to speed, it comes right back out of the vents otherwise. It's only really an issue during heavy rains. In fact you probably won't notice it at all unless your engine compartment has a lot of chrome parts (like mine does) then you'll find yourself wiping the chrome down every so often. The engine cover protects the coil packs, and the fuse box is water tight in the Mustangs. And they are functional and work very well. The heat waves rising from the vents at stop lights are proof of that. lol.
