2011 Passenger presence module replacement

So my car started displaying service air bag and I brought the car to the dealer for diagnostic . They say I need a passenger presence module replacement and that it will be 800$. He cant give me a exact reason why this is happening but says that they found a can of soup underneath the seat and could be the cause. My question is just does 800$ sound like a ok price to get this fixed or can I go somewhere else and get the service done cheaper?

If it is the one i am thinking, the seat has to come out and taken apart, which is a lot of work to do right. Dealers normally are higher in labor rates, so you could most likely get it done cheaper somewhere else, but i dont know by how much. You also dont want someone just ripping it apart and throwing it back together without any concern for getting it done right. To me its best to go to someone you trust vs just based on price.

Now that i re-read your post, you may be referring to a computer type part vs a pressure sensor, and the part could be most of that cost.
