Do you have NPP? If so, leave the back half alone. Those sound dirty with the right set up. If you're planning on longtubes down the line, just replace the resonator with an X pipe (non-resonated) and you'll be good to go once you swap the headers out.

If you don't have NPP, consider leaving the resonators alone and just go with a sporty axleback that includes mufflers. Once you get the longtubes on, you can adjust from there. Although it should be made known that starting from the headers and working your way back for sound is always the best bet. That way you don't over do it and make it too loud and have to backtrack to quiet it down again. Now Avenging Orange is gonna be upset I stole his mantra

If you're wanting just a little bit more sound and you plan on getting long tube headers later, just get the headers and forget the rest of the exhaust setup. If you decide you want more sound as you move along, Solo Mach XL catback is awesome! Nice mild cruising volume, but mean WOT. Best part about it is ZERO DRONE. Even with long tubes I don't have drone, just a little noticeable AFM, but I've extended the J pipe plug a little and now that's gone away. Solo FTW!!!

Just put the solo mach xl catback with jpipes on my 2015 L99 today and it is just as pyroguy says. Quiet cruising not very noticeable at all. When you get on it the sound in the car is louder but not obnoxious. How it should of been from the factory.

My brother drove by while I was on the side of the road and did a quick pull at 35 and it sounded like a nasty beast! Outside the car it is loud when you stand on it but inside it isn't bad at all. This is a great system if you have a daily driver like mine and don't want it over the top but I have already got many head turns and thumbs up with a 30 minute drive.

Where in Texas are you? I am in Houston if you wanted to hear in person. I have a video but it doesn't do it justice. It sounds much higher pitch on the video. It is much deeper in person.

I have exactly same motor and year. I went with Flowmaster super 10's. Sounds deep and violent. But not too loud. I kept my resonator on for now.

Ya but if he is just looking for a little more growl i would doubt he will jump into headers with a tune...but who knows.

I know the solo catback was worth at least half a tenth just from all the weight it took off. It seriously must have been 50-70 pounds lighter than the factory L99 exhaust. That resonator is just ridiculous and those mufflers are the size of a large Thanksgiving turkey.lol

Start at the front and work your way back.
Do the headers first. The stock exhaust sounds really good with some headers in front of it.
