Custom Dual Pod Gauge Bezel Dash Cluster!!

Im Very excited about this product.

About 2 months ago a small home based company in RI call Ortiz Customs Pods Started to Produce a Dual Gauge pod for the 2010 and up Camaro. (52mm)

I am one of the first ones to get one in hand . I drove down and spoke with the guys and saw there shop. These guys build the by hand using factory equipment.

I ordered the Pod on March 20th and Received the prototype today!

Jannetty Racing will be installing this pod along with Some nice digital EVO Gauges on Tuesday the 21st!. So you guys will have to wait to see it installed.

So far my first impression on the pod is awesome. It looks like they really put the time and effort into this to make sure it looked smooth and flawless!

I can't wait to get it installed and see how it looks.

If anyone contacts them to order one of these, just be aware its 2 guys in a small warehouse pumping out A TON of pillars for all makes and model cars. So expect a 30 day turnaround if you want one at this time.

Im in no way affilitated with them, just a happy customer wanting something different than everyone else!!

1 thing I'm defiantly going to look for with this installed is how much each pod blocks the speedometer and lower part of the Tach. I will post pics as soon as its installed on Tuesday!!

STAY TUNED

5-6-2015 UPDATE

Happy to announce that it is no longer a prototype and it is now finalized and in production!!

Here are the changes that were made:
1-The pods them selves were cut shorter and were raised in the front by half an inch.
2-They sanded the bezel a a bit more smoother than last model.
3-They used a brighter color silver, and put several coats of clear on it.

With the new pods angled up higher, and shorter. This made the gauges on the instrument cluster more viewable.

You can now see all of the Coolant Temp. You can see up to 3/4 Gas. You can see the speedometer from 20mph and up. And you only loose over 7500 RPMs. !!

The end product is Awesome....Here are some photos!!

Yes. I installed them yesterday. Its basically a prototype, But the pod has a slight issue. They didn't have a camaro to look at prior to making these. So they were under the assumption the instrument cluster sat straight up and down on the dash like most cars. However ours are at an angle with the top sticking out.

Therefore the Pods that hold the gauges are pointing straight down at the steering wheel. I have been in contact with them and they car going to take measurements using my car on friday to correct the issue. I should have a new bezel in a couple weeks.

Other than that the bezel is great! Its going to be awesome

Just getting an email from them today(three days) that they have processed my order.

I'm not confident I will see my part in 3 weeks because, and I quote, "All of our parts take three weeks to complete once we have the selected part(s) in the shop." Sooooo, how long does it take them to get parts in the shop? Not trying to bash this company, but you don't list on your web site a 3 week turn around and then follow up once you place your order with an unknown caveat to the delivery time.

Also, who designs, builds and sells a product without testing it first? Already not feeling the love for this part.

EDIT: The closer I look at your pictures, the gauge pods look like they have ragged edges like someone cut them with hand hacksaw. How close is the finish to the original cluster bezel color/finish?

Its 2 cousins working together hand making these in a small office. I felt the same way as you until i went to the shop and saw what they are working with, and how many pods they push out a week.

I wanted something different than everyone else had so the wait was no bother to me. I got my pod in 28 days from the time i ordered it. (few days to get part, then shipping time)

They do not stock most bezels, they place the order once your order has been finalized. My guess 3-5 business days.

Due to them just finding out the part is not angled correctly i wouldn't expect your Pod for 3-4 weeks. I am bringing my car to them tomorrow to get the measurement right.

Ill update you tomorrow. But I'm sure when you get the part you are going to want it correct and fit perfect, which is why there is a delay right now.

To be honest, when I order it I expected it to be correct and fit perfect. Thanks for the extra work your doing so future orders are spot on.

Yup, and so did I.

It was quite disappointing driving the 2hours home from Jannetty after getting these installed and not even being able to see the gauges.

But I took the higher road (which is rare for me!) and choose to be fair, advise them of the issue and work with them on making it perfect, and they are. Going in yelling and screaming rarely helps the problem and lessens companies wanting to do anything for you. Im usually that guy haha.

But thanks, I do like the Pod...and i want it to be perfect for anyone else.

The issues that can't be fixed by me is lack of communication via email, updates and time frame to get product. Thats on them. I found it a lot easier to just call the shop phone or message on Facebook.

Just got this response back from them:
"Hello Jerome,

We have corrected the issues. It should take about 3 weeks and then another few days to ship to you.

Thank you,"

Way more optimistic now.
